In September of 1978, Pastor Gene and his wife, Betty Jo, were called to Rosenberg with a clear mission: “To set the captives free!\u201d Through the years a vision has developed through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It has two facets:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cto be and to do\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

–\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>To be<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>the body of Christ, and members in particular (1 Cor. 12:27)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0the Word made flesh dwelling among men (Jn. 1:14)<\/em><\/p>\n

–\u00a0<\/span>To do\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>the works that Jesus did, and greater works (JN. 14:12) to preach the gospel to the poor\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0heal the brokenhearted, to preach the deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
